Building Access

Our commitment to you is to provide the highest level of security possible. To help us maintain this standard, please note that we have updated the existing visitors badges for the building. All Client guests and visitors will be given a reusable visitor badge that must be displayed while in the building. All badges will have an expiring name label on the color coded badge as an added security measure. Please remind your guests to return the badges at the security desk prior to exiting the building.

Please note that all IBEW guests will have a blue visitor badge as noted below.

All other Building Client guests will have a red visitor badge as noted below.

All contractors such as couriers, vendors, service providers will have an orange visitor badge as noted below.

Should you notice suspicious activity outside or within the building, immediately contact the front desk at 202.289.5263 or email at security900@akridge.com. With your help, we can continue to keep 900 Seventh Street safe and secure.

Your building is equipped with an access control system monitored by Kastle Systems.  The main entrance doors, located on Thirteenth Street, are locked from 6:00 PM to 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday and 24 hours on weekends and holidays.  Your employees may gain access to the building during security hours with their Kastle cards.

The elevators are secured 24/7. You must use your Kastle card in order to proceed to your floor.  Press your card against the card reader.  Do this until the red light on the reader turns green, then press the elevator button to your floor until it lights and the elevator will take you to your floor.  When traveling in a down direction, you may only exit at the lobby level.

Kastle Cards / Fobs

Kastle cards are issued to you prior to your move-in. It is very important that you keep track of those cards that are authorized for new employees and revoke any cards that are lost. Authorization and/or revocation of cards are performed by your Office Administrator or by Kastle Systems. Contact Kastle System at 703.524.7911 and speak to the Card Administrator responsible for your building to have administrative rights assigned or for assistance with managing a card/fob. You may request a card listing for your firm at any time. Additional cards and suite alarm keys may be ordered from Kastle Systems by using the order forms provided or by visiting Kastle’s website, www.kastle.com. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding Kastle and security cards please contact your Property Manager.

If you have any questions or need assistance from Kastle Systems or their staff, please call us at Akridge, so we may assist you in receiving prompt and courteous service from Kastle Systems at all times.

Visitors & Special Admits

If you are expecting a visitor during security hours, you must make prior arrangements with Kastle to admit your visitor into the building. To arrange weekday admittance, Kastle may be contacted at 703.524.7911 before 5:00 PM on the day the guest will arrive.  Weekend visitation must be arranged on Friday before 5:00 PM of the designated weekend.  When you call, tell Kastle you are calling to arrange a “special admit” and they will connect you with the appropriate department.  Provide them with the visitor's name, the day the visitor is expected, the approximate time of arrival, permission for admittance, and your Kastle card number (for authorization). Visitors can also be authorized via the Kastle website at www.kastle.com.

If the visitor arrives at the building between the hours of 6:00 PM and 8:00 AM, they should use the special call box outside the lobby doors to gain admittance: pressing the call button towards the bottom of the box rings Kastle Systems directly. When Kastle answers, visitors should identify themselves and tell Kastle who they are visiting. If you have arranged for their admittance, their names will be on an “admit list” and Kastle will allow them immediate access to the building. Once the visitors are in the building, they should proceed to the main lobby front desk, which is covered by Securitas Security Services 24/7. Visitors will need to sign in and present a valid ID to the security officer. The security officer will present your visitor with a badge and give them access to the floor requested.
